Naked Ambition (Star)
Naked Ambition is currently spelling after her 3yo season concluded with an unplaced effort in a heat of the Group 1 Vicbred Super Series at Maryborugh on 21st December.
In her first season of racing the filly recorded 4 wins and a further 5 placings from her 19 race starts.
Trainer Dylan Stratford is looking forward to having Star back in work at the Cranbourne Training Centre on 6th February to commence her 4yo campaign.
Classy Countess (Tess)
Classy Countess had a short (14 day) let up after her promising second placed affort at Geelong on 15th December.
Tess returned to the stables in good order and trainer Scott Ewen will look to give the filly a trial (potentially at Cranbourne on Saturday 6 February) ahead of a return to racing.
At this stage, the $50,000 Group 2 Vicbred Platinum Series looks to be an ideal target for this girl. The series is restricted to Vicbred only pacing fillies with career earnings of less than $10,000. Heats of the series will be contested in March with the $50,000 final to be run at Melton on Saturday 3rd April.
The Falcon Prince (Prince)
Prince recently rejoined the stables of trainer Scott Ewen after a spring break and a month’s pre-training in the western district of Victoria. This fellow is about 4-5 weeks away from the trials and should resume racing in March.
Alderbaran My (Pattie)
Pattie has returned to trainer Dylan Stratford’s stables at the start of January to begin what we hope will be an uninterrupted 3yo campaign.
The filly succumbed to respitory infection on more than one occassion as a 2yo and it is hoped that a change to her training regime to introduce regular treadmill work and swimming will help.
Copacabana has been a revelation since joing the Bacchus Marsh stables of Jess Tubbs and husband Greg Sugars. A change really did prove to be better than a holiday in this particular case!
The filly made her racetrack debut at Kilmore on 26th November and had a total of six starts before the end of the season which yielded 2 placings and a fourth placed effort in the Group 3 Vicbred Silver Final on 30th December.
Lola is now having a short break and will potentially be aimed at the Group 2 Vicbred Platinum Series for 3yo Trotting Fillies which culminates in a $50,000 final at Melton on 20th March.
Somebeachsomewhere x Illawong Sister Styx Filly (Fizz)
For a daughter of one of the country’s leading sires and and with a mother who was placed in a Victoria Oaks, Fizz has been painfully slow on the uptake.
Your Club 21 directors, in concert with Scotty Ewen, have made the decision to transfer Fizz into the care of trainers Craig Demmler and Jodi Quinlan in the hope that they may be unlock the key to this girl.
Jodi trained Illawong Sister Styx throughout her career and it’s hoped that her familiarity with the family yields a positive outcome.
Fend Off (Boko)
Club 21 Directors, on the recommendation of trainer Simone Walker, have elected to surrender the lease on our talented but erratic trotter Fend Off.
